Greater Dayton H.T. ~ Thanks to all who made this a really fun event!

Gemwood Horse Trials is now open to receive entries! Closing Date is July 7th.

ATTN: GEMWOOD VOLUNTEERS - SAT.
We start dressage at 7:30am. Stadium starts at 10:30am. SUN. The jump judge briefing will be held in the shelter house at 7:30am. Cross-country starts at 9:00am. Thank you for volunteering! If you can help, please contact me!

A reminder to you: NO BEDDING PROVIDED this year. So, please bring what you need. We will have some straw available for purchase. If you know you can't bring bedding and will need to buy some from us, let me know so I'm sure I have enough. I know most people prefer shavings, but, that just isn't workable for us at this time. And, I kept seeing so many wasted straw bales at previous shows, that I came to the decision to stop providing it. Most of you seem to bring shavings with you already.

Two New Awards to be given!!

Gemwood Events is teaming up with New Vocations to offer an award for the Highest Placed Thoroughbreds at both of our events. A prize will be presented in P, T, N, BN & Starter to the highest placed registered TB. Include notification on your entry that your horse is a registered TB and you want to be considered for this award.

Horsemanship Award. Sponsored by: Winnie's Cookies. Unfortunately, sometimes the best horseman doesn't win the event. But, I believe that good horsemanship should be rewarded and encouraged in our sport and in our industry. This new award will be given to one competitor at each event, who shows outstanding care and respect for their equine partner. We are looking for a fit and prepared horse and rider combination. And, a competitor that has the horse's best interest at heart. Are you the horseman your horse deserves? We'll be watching!!

We hear all of the time about how hard it is to pick an appropriate event by the brief description in the Omnibus listing. To help give everyone a better idea of our courses, I have added some pictures of some of our cross country fences to this site. I hope this helps give you a feel for our courses. If you ever have any questions about the courses, please don't hesitate to contact me.

The x/c portables that were purchased from
Majestic Farm (formerly known as Paxton Farm) have arrived at Twin Towers!! Thanks to Nate Hosket for helping me make several trips to get them hauled to their new home. These jumps should be a great addition to our courses.

Let's have a safe season. Make sure you and your horse are Mentally, Emotionally and Physically Fit!
